A strange thing happens inside me every time I pick up a camera. A since that the world around me and it’s trappings all fall away, while a flame of profound uniqueness begins to spark and sizzle like a trick candle that you can’t seem to blow out. This irritating flame of creativity has always pushed me to go beyond boundaries, take risks, change perspectives and stop time in a frame that not just shows a person, place or thing, but documents life and each moments history in a way that lets us see ourselves and the world around us for who we are at that moment in time.
Innovation in photography requires the connection of work to ideas to style to individuality and finally fearlessness. I like to call this, “Uniqueness on display”. A phrase that sums up a personal approach to the ways I challenge my subjects, surroundings and self.
This site is intended to be a repository of a vast majority of my work over the past 33 years. It is broken into categories and then again into years. I like to consider it a visual history or guide to the progression of a large portion of my life, a safe or diary for memories in images many of which have never been seen by anyone but myself.
